I have been an employee with at&t since January of 1998. I was originally hired in as a Communications Technician out of the Girls School Rd Garage in Indianapolis. I am currently a Customer Service Specialist at the same location. Prior to working at at&t I served our country in the United States Marines. I was raised by my Grandparents who were staunch Union supporters and can clearly remember going with my Grandfather, a Union Carpenter, to several Union functions. I was taught early on the value of having a Union job and what the Union was there for. After leaving the Military I had a few opportunities to work at other Companies but chose at&t mostly because of its Union workforce. I knew that if I worked there I would have a family of people around me who had a lot of the same goals as I did. After a couple short years I got involved at my garage as a Steward. I have been fortunate enough to be a Steward, Chief Steward, Area Rep and now Vice President of the best local in the Midwest. I am also the chair of the Community Services Committee and the Election Committee and have attended several leadership programs. Weather working on the Truck or as an Officer of this Local my goal has been to be a Steward of the Union and to promote the working class!
