The attached document represents the tentative agreement, reached with CWA District 4, for a 4 year extension of the existing contract. The changes reflected in the document are the healthcare numbers that reflect a 29% cost share through the years ending in 2026.
This agreement preserves all of the hard fought gains from 2018 and locks in healthcare for all those retiring from April 9th of 2022 to the length of the extension. This means, anyone retiring AFTER April 9th, 2022 would be eligible to continue under the benefits as attached. If they retire BEFORE to April 9th, 2022, they would move to the company’s retiree healthcare program that is not bargained. This is critical information to those considering retirement.
RETIRE BEFORE APRIL 9TH, 2022 = STAY ON CURRENT BARGAINED BENEFITS TO THE END OF 2022 AND THEN MOVE TO NON BARGAINED COMPANY PLAN
RETIRE AFTER APRIL 9TH, 2022 = STAY ON CURRENT BARGAINED BENEFITS TO THE END OF 2022 AND THEN STAY ON NEWLY BARGAINED BENEFITS IN THE EXTENSION FOR YEARS 2023, 2024, 2025 AND 2026.
This extension is subject to ratification by the membership. We will share ratification information as soon as its available. It will be via US. mail.
All other terms of the agreement remain intact as in place today.
